#6"An unexpected adventure"

            I was in a dark, closed room. It was so small that I can't even lie down on the floor. In an instant, I heard a soft and whispering voices coming from outside. Voices from the people who seemed to be expecting something. I rapidly held the silver doorknob, trying to unlock the door. But then, it doesn't work a bit. I tried the second time but nothing changes. I can feel my sweat dropping. My hands were cold. I felt the fast beating of my heart. I tried the third time by putting my full force, fortunately, the door opened. I found myself in a narrow hallway which is full of lights. The rays was striking my eyes but then it was beautiful. The lights was shining and shimmering. As I walked slowly through the hallway, I heard the soft voices louder and louder until I was in front of a big, classy door. It was intricately designed and carved of flowers. As I was gently opening the door, the voices stopped. Just then, there were balloons flying, hands clapping, loud shouts saying,
                                                     "Happy Birthday Dor!"
           It was then I remembered, it was my 16th birthday. And there they are my loving family and friends, in front of me holding their lovely-wrapped presents. It was then an unforgettable birthday, yet an adventure I must say.

1. What is the main message of the video?

"If you fall seven times, stand up eight!" This is exactly the message of the video. Even if you fall many times, don't give up. You must have the courage and strength to stand up and see that everything in this world is possible as long as you have the faith.

2. Are you inspired by it? Why or why not?

Yes, because sometimes I am pessimistic. I think that I can't do this, that.. But as I watch the video again and again, it gives me the determination to face life, deal with it and be happy with it.

3. How can you become an inspiration for others too?

I can become an inspiration for others by simply working first on myself. As I live my life in a right way, I think I can influence other people to be like me. Also, I will share to others what I learn in this world. Lastly, I'll tell them to have faith in Him and everything will follow.

DEFINITION WRITING (discipline)

Discipline

            Training expected to produce a specific character or pattern of behavior, especially training that produces    moral or mental improvement. (Source: www.thefreedictionary.com)

               

In other words, discipline is a set of rules or methods expected to produce a controlled and correct behavior.

In brief, discipline is a training to produce good attitude.

In short, discipline is a training.

In simpler terms, discipline means a teaching to correct one's character.

That is, discipline is a systematic method to obtain obedience.

To put it differently, discipline is a state of order to correct or train.

"After Life"

          It been seven years since my grandmother died. She was a caring and loving Lola. Me and my cousins really love to go in her house because there, we can do what we want to. She really spoiled as though. Just then in the month of April, year 2004, she was taken away from us. She died because of colon cancer. It was really a great loss, especially to us her grandchildren. Days before her burial, me and my cousins talks about the things that happened to us for the past few days. Our attention were then caught by the dream that our eldest ate told to us. She told us that before she knew that our grandmother died, she had a dream.
        "We were in a reunion, at that time. My family, my uncles, aunties and cousins also. We were all happy as if each of our problems were not problems at all. Just then we saw our Lola outside the house. She was walking away from us. A smile was in her face and her hands were waving, as though she was saying goodbye. We then waved our hands and smiles were on our face as she walked away."
       We were moved by the dream Ate told to us.It was really a sign that she will go to heaven and that she will be happy there. Contentment and assurance were unto us that our grandmother was happy and so were we. The dream was helpful to accept the loss of our loved one.
        It may be hard to admit that some people we loved, leaves. But we must not worry because they are always on our side, may it be through a dream or not. We may not see their presence bu we can feel them.   
        Clearly, dead communicates to us in various ways. This may be lovely, horrifying or magical but this is one way for us to remember that they are and always be a part of our lives. :D
        

#3 I stop to say thank you to my family...

          It is always been a saying that "blood is thicker than water". Yes, truly it is because when we are in trouble, there is always a family open to accept who and what we are. Maybe, everyone turn their backs on us but then our family doesn't. But how do we give importance and value our family today?
          Family, according to Alex Haley, is link to our past, bridge to our future. From the day we were born, up to now and surely to the future, they are always there to guide and mold us to be a better person. But we, especially teenagers nowadays forget to acknowledge the significance of having a family. We take them for granted that even saying thank you to the things that they did is hard for us to do; even saying thank you for being there in our daily lives. We must learn to value them and give them importance because we'll never know how long they will be there on our sides. So I would like to grab this chance, starting from now, to ten years to forever, I will do my best to express my greatest gratitude to you, my brothers and sisters and to my loving parents. I want to spend my days with you, full of happiness and love.
          So as I ended this, I'll want to say thank you to my family. You are truly a gift from God! :))

"A yes to good reader"

        I am a "yes" to good reader but not to good writer.
        Since I'm a child I love to read books; books full of colors and figures. When I got in elementary, my reading habit slowed down because I spent most of my time playing outdoor games but in high school, I did a lot of reading. I started reading novels talking about adventures and mysteries. I read also inspiring and true to life stories. Reading for me is a relaxation and pleasure because through it I can make my own picture of the story. It enables me to gain knowledge and widen my vocabulary. But as for now I can't really consider myself being a good reader, it's just that I had fun in reading.
     Some people says that when you read a lot, you have the potential to write a lot. As for me, yes I read, but not write. In writing, yes, I can express my ideas and opinions but I really had hard time expressing it in  "a pen and a paper" manner. It's difficult for me to find the right terms for the things I really want to express. Organizing the ideas and maintaining coherency also is one of my problems in writing. My friends advises me to write and write because it's the only way to improve my way of writing and that follows the "being a good writer". Well then I'm trying to convince myself to write and write but really for now, I read. :)

My Mission in Life

       Each one of us has this thing called "mission in life", may it be in a short term or long term. It is very important because it encourages us to live life and fulfill our goals. It teaches us the path where we are going. And to achieve this thing, we must live and work with it!

      Right now, I am in my first year of college. Many adjustments has been made, living far away from my parents and managing my own self. But these things strengthen my mission as a student. My first mission is to finish my studies. I want to do good in class and have good grades. It will be a great achievement for me to graduate and to see my parents smile seeing their daughter march for the next 5 years. My second mission is of course to have a job and help my parents. They raced me for good and I want to at least return their favors even though it will cost me a lifetime. My third mission is to do good for others and the world. I want to be a part of making the world a better place since nowadays, there are many bad things happening. Some people now don't fulfill their responsibilities to others and to our society. I just want to make a change. But all these things I just mentioned is just a part of what is my last mission in life which is the greatest. My fourth and last mission in life is to serve God in the best that I can. I want to bring back to Him all His glory. It has been four years since I understood who really is God. It is a great feeling to know Him more and be his follower. Yes, there were times that I fail to recognize Him. It was then a great mistake. I fell into temptations but then God helped me to run away from those things. God is really is good and I want other people to know it. I want to spread His word and His goodness. I want other people to know how great He is. I want other people to be saved. I may not be perfect It may be a great responsibility but I want to undertake it.  Day by day, I pray that I can serve Him well just like what fulfilling my greatest mission. 

And all these missions can be possible with God.
